About this project
Apartment in the very centre of Kaunas in a building preserving a rich history.
The main desire of the client was to harmonize the modern interior while preserving the history and uniqueness of the building. When we entered the historical military telegraph of Kaunas, the building itself dictated the idea of the interior.
We created cosiness in the apartment with a palette of warm, brown tones. For the floor, we chose the Herringbone pattern, which is repeated in other wooden elements as well. In both the kitchen and the bathroom, we selected white tiles with a marble motif, which not only gives a feeling of subtle luxury but also visually enhances the space of the bathroom. We have adapted an industrial-style luminaire on the living room, which fits perfectly in the modern interior but does not obscure the idea of the authenticity of the apartment. Eventually, we just had to uncover the authentic red bricks, which became a pleasant accent throughout the interior.
